This photograph was in the album of a local resident, location unknown. The person had inherited family photo albums with images that she was told to be of the Wopsy Railroad in deep-snow winter scenes. A local train historian identified the engine as one of the later models used by the Wopsononock Railroad and with that information, a related newspaper article was discovered.
Altoona high school students had been used to clear the tracks of snow so that coal service from Dougherty to Altoona could be resumed.
