This photo, source unknown, from some time late in the history of the hotel, shows a large addition to the left side of the building. The bare trees could indicate spring time, as the trees on the cooler mountain leaf later than in the valley below.
An article in the June 20th, 1892 Altoona Tribune mentions the addition and twenty-five new rooms.

The photo could have been used as a reference for an advertisement in The Philadelphia Inquirer from June 18, 1899 inviting visitors to the hotel.
