The Fourth Annual Tournament of the Pennsylvania State Sportsmen’s Association commenced at Wopsy on August 21, 1894. The Tournament was given under the auspices of the Altoona Rod and Gun Club. It promised to be an unqualified success, provided the weather was good for the tournament days at Wopsononock. The first three days of the tournament took place at Lookout Point, at the edge of the mountain, where the traps were located and in readiness.

For this four-day tournament, the Wopsy Railroad provided a special train schedule to accommodate all traveling to the competition.
Also, for the accommodation of shooters, and of others who wished to see the events, hacks traveled between the hotel and the Lookout. Shooters were carried free of charge.

The Annual Meeting of the Pennsylvania State Sportsmen’s Association was held at the Hotel Wopsononock on the night of August 21, 1894. It was said to be an important meeting as they planned to discuss making special efforts toward obtaining a uniform game law for Pennsylvania.
Visitors were invited to walk to the Lookout after the sun had set and enjoy the sights below, all lit up by electric lights, making the scene one of great beauty.
